There are also several mountain huts in the area that offer overnight accommodation. The Onsernone Valley is known for its unspoiled nature.

Mosogno is a small village in the Onsernone Valley, which is said to have the most hours of sunshine of any village in the valley. In 1872, the municipality of Mosogno granted Mikhail Bakunin honorary citizenship to save him from threatened expulsion from Switzerland. Mikhail Bakunin was the founder and theoretician of anarchism and a left-wing opponent of Karl Marx.
